Frequently Asked Questions

Calyx Softs begins by clarifying the client’s sourcing requirement or commercial capability, including the commodity, specification, volume, timing, target country or region, documentation needs, and intended outcome.

We then convert that information into a structured profile, define the agreed research boundaries, research relevant organisations, assess fit and evidence gaps, and report progress through the deliverables set out in the applicable Scope of Work.

A client does not need a suitable buyer, supplier, or Trade-Support Partner to already be registered with Calyx Softs before work can begin.

1

How does Calyx Softs work?

No. Calyx Softs is not a marketplace, ecommerce shop, stockholder, buyer, seller, or commission-led broker.

We provide Intelligent Sourcing Services, including structured requirement intake, market mapping, organisation research, fit assessment, evidence tracking, sourcing analysis, and agreed reporting.

Calyx does not take ownership of commodities or act as a principal to a transaction.

Is Calyx Softs a marketplace or broker?

2

Do you guarantee suppliers or buyers?

3

No. Calyx Softs cannot guarantee supplier availability, buyer interest, pricing, contract completion, or any other commercial outcome.

Our role is to clarify the requirement, research potentially relevant organisations, assess available evidence and commercial fit, identify information gaps, and provide clear findings and recommended next actions.

Any decision to contact, engage, contract with, or trade with another organisation remains the client’s independent commercial decision.

How is this different from buying a lead list?

4

A lead list is usually a static collection of names and contact information that has not been assessed against a specific commercial requirement.

Calyx Softs works from a structured client requirement. We research organisations against agreed criteria such as commodity, specification, geography, volume, timing, capability, and documentation requirements.

The objective is not simply to provide a spreadsheet of contacts. It is to support a controlled sourcing process with research, fit assessment, evidence tracking, reporting, and defined next actions.

What does “evidence-led” mean?

5

Evidence-led means Calyx Softs does not rely solely on statements made in outreach responses, company profiles, directories, or lead databases.

Where relevant to the agreed scope, we look for supporting information such as company details, product specifications, certifications, documentation availability, operating capability, export readiness, and other relevant evidence.

An organisation is not described as verified, approved, or suitable unless the relevant supporting evidence has been reviewed and the wording has passed the required internal controls.

Calyx Softs provides monthly Intelligent Sourcing Services with clearly defined deliverables.

  • The Standard Plan starts from £1,250 per month

  • The Advanced Plan starts from £2,750 per month

  • The Premium Plan starts from £5,500 per month

The final research boundaries, service capacity, workstreams, deliverables, reporting cadence, service period, assumptions, exclusions, and fee are confirmed in the applicable Scope of Work.

One-off, seasonal, urgent, or bespoke assignments may be quoted separately. Calyx does not charge success fees or percentage commission.

How does pricing work?

What happens after I submit an enquiry?

7

The Calyx Softs team reviews the enquiry to understand the commercial objective, determine whether the requirement is sufficiently clear, and assess which service or plan may be appropriate.

Where information is missing, we may ask follow-up questions about the commodity, specification, volume, timing, geography, documentation requirements, workstreams, and intended outcome.

For monthly-plan enquiries, the proposed scope, deliverables, service period, fee, and payment terms are confirmed before work begins.

What happens if a suitable organisation is not already in the Calyx Softs network?

8

Calyx Softs does not require a suitable buyer, supplier, or Trade-Support Partner to already be registered before an engagement can begin.

Your fee covers the sourcing work and agreed deliverables, not guaranteed access to an existing match. Depending on the Scope of Work, this may include requirement clarification, research of existing and additional organisations, market mapping, fit assessment, evidence-gap review, progress reporting, and recommended next actions.

Where no suitable existing profile is identified, Calyx Softs may conduct targeted research and prepare a controlled sourcing campaign to identify potentially relevant organisations through approved research sources and reviewed outreach contacts.

Any organisations identified are assessed against the original requirement before being included in client reporting or considered for an introduction. Where no suitable organisation is identified within the agreed service period, the client still receives the completed research, findings, limitations, evidence gaps, and recommended next steps set out in the Scope of Work.

Specific suppliers, buyers, introductions, pricing, transactions, or commercial outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

Is my information kept confidential?

9

Calyx Softs handles enquiry details and commercial information carefully and uses them only for the relevant sourcing assessment and agreed service workflow.

Client identities and sensitive requirement details are not automatically disclosed during research or outreach. External campaign wording may refer to “a client requirement” without naming the client.

Where disclosure of the client’s identity is commercially necessary, this should only occur with appropriate client approval. Sensitive commercial, legal, financial, or documentation matters may require a formal confidentiality agreement or additional contractual controls.
